Background: My life has been based in London and the South East of England but with some time working abroad, I am still able to view the area through a visitor’s eyes. England never ceases to delight and inspire me with its wealth of history and its natural beauty, whether in stunning ancient landscapes or cultivated into beautiful gardens.
By combining my earlier career experience with my best loved interests I am well qualified to showcase London and the South East to visitors. My background ensures that I can organise a good quality tour tailored to your requirements and present the country’s delights in an entertaining and informative style.
Special Interests: It’s the region’s social history that really excites me – how people lived in other times, the land and cityscapes they developed and the contrasts with today’s lifestyles.
My specialities include London highlights; Tudor Royalty in South East England especially the life and times of King Henry VIII from Hampton Court Palace to Hever Castle; Canterbury and its cathedral; shore excursions from Dover and the glorious gardens of England.
I also guide literary tours of London and the South East, in particular the influence of Kent on its residents such as Charles Dickens, Sir Winston Churchill, John Evelyn and Jane Austen.
